Meet Dr. Zucker

Our Affiliated Pediatric Optometrist is located right next door

“My ultimate goal is to positively impact all whom I come into contact with, whether they’re a personal friend, a patient in an exam room, or a stranger on the street. Life itself is a ride, and a practice of sorts, and I am absolutely thrilled and grateful to be alive.”

– Dr. David Zucker, O.D.

Dr. David Zucker, O.D.

Pediatric Optometrist

Originally from Baltimore, MD, but raised in Scottsdale, AZ, Dr. Zucker attended Arizona State University in which he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology. He then moved to Chicago and earned his Doctorate of Optometry from The Illinois College of Optometry. While attending The Illinois College of Optometry, Dr. Zucker was active in the American Optometric Association (AOA) in which he served as the Political Action Committee (PAC) Liaison for his school. As the AOA PAC Liaison, Dr. Zucker traveled twice to Washington D.C., in which he teamed up with others to fight for patients’ rights to access quality eye care. He completed a rigorous training program and internship, which included multiple optometric training sites: The Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago, IL; The Aleda E. Lutz Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Saginaw, MI; Omni Eye Services in Atlanta, GA; and Daniel and Davis Optometry in Carlsbad, CA. He then went on to practice full-scope Eye Care in Southern Vermont for the next few years.

Dr. David Zucker, our affiliated eye doctor in the next-door suite, has been specializing in myopia care for kids for years, treating amblyopia (lazy eye) without surgery with special glasses that many times can take the place of eye patching therapy, specializes in binocular vision dysfunction, which can cause ADHD like symptoms, trouble reading in school, and sometimes headaches, and special ortho-k contact lenses that can give your child a competitive advantage in sports and eliminate the need for glasses or daytime contacts, and improve their confidence.

Dr. Zucker is proud to call Santa Barbara his home. And when he’s not in the office, you’ll find him active and outdoors throughout the year. He takes pleasure in playing soccer and other outdoor sports and activities all year.

Dr. Zucker is passionate about Eye Care and Overall Health and Wellness. He strives to improve the visual freedom, and quality of life, for every patient.
